This Urn was a custom order. The customer provided a photo of the bench that his mother used to sit on each day as she sat by the ocean. Watercolor pencil by Lanie.

Great job, Ian. Too bad our society would frown on having that made for a person while they are still alive so they can appreciate it. The resident will never get to see what a fine gesture their family did for them.

That's beautiful! Such a fine job on the whole thing - the urn, wood, painting and texture - just beautiful! You say 195 cubit inches, what's the overall size of the urn?

Faust, I have often wondered about that. After all people buy burial plots years ahead of time. I don't see any reason why a person could not design and /or order an Urn while they were still with us. Companion Urns could definitely be looked at in that way. It can still be looked at as an art piece in the meantime. I seem to sell quite a few to people that just like the form, color or artwork. It would be interesting to hear what other on this site feel about this subject.

Ian,

Gorgeous, and I agree about enjoying the urn ahead of time........

Could you speak to your method of attaching the lid?

Thanks for posting.
