A friend brought a piece of magnolia over last weekend, it was dry and had a couple of cracks but there was some potential there also. Magnolia does not get very hard when dry but it was dusty and had a tendency to chip out. I was a little concerned about the cracks but a little CA took care of them. Quite a few worm holes added some character (or defects depending on your perspective). 9-1/2" diameter X 6" tall This one is finished with lacquer (not buffed out yet). Comments and critiques welcome.

Ha!!! That is great wood Dennis!! Tad smaller on the opening, but given the size overall...forget about it!! You have a great form and although not a fan of gloss...it works well here. Great job sir!!

Nice job, Dennis. The wood is gorgeous.... is it old, or fresh???...... Jerry (in Tucson)

Very nice Dennis! That's one of my favorite forms and nice wood with lots of character, and the finish looks great.
