LOML remodeled a guest bath. She didn't want the medicine chest so, I made this to fit into the hole where it used to be. I installed it today but, do not have a camera handy at her place. Here's a pic from the shop with some 'stuff' setting inside where her more refined home decor items will end up ;).

Beautiful work as always Glenn. How did you do the beading?

Beautiful work as always Glenn. How did you do the beading?

The back is only a fat 1/8" thick so I used a pointed router bit to run a shallow kerf about 3/4" from one edge of each panel. Then I cut the rabbets on the front of each panel near the kerf and the rear of the panel on the opposite edge. Here's a pic of how they lap (panel separation is exaggerated for the pic):

I then used a shoulder plane to knock a 45* profile down each edge of the kerf and the edges that meet at the lap. Sounds like a lot of work but it was just a couple swipes per edge ;-).
