When a Lie Nielson 4 1/2 arrives on your doorstep it makes any day a good day. What a beautiful tool, my wife even commented on it. I was surprised at how heavy it is. First thing I did was to put a nice micro-bevel on the blade while also noticing the newly designed chip breaker and the thickness of the blade. I reassembled the plane, put a light coat of wax on the sole, easily adjusted the blade for a light cut and then proceeded to make beautiful curls of lacy thin shavings. It glides over the wood with very little effort and in no time the surface was as smooth as a babies rear.
