Purpleheart and Walnut Nightstands

Just finished these nightstands for a friends two girls. The purpleheart for each top is one solid piece and the legs are walnut harvested in Washington State. I used Minwax wipe on poly for the finish.

Cool. Great color in the legs, too.

The "display stand" underneath them looks sharp enough to get it's own project thread.
How are the tops attached to the stretchers? I'm thinking about some kid-proof projects.
