In another string about disposing of old bandasw blades, Phil Thien stated that he used a Dremel tool to sharpen his blades. He posted a You Tube link demonstrating the technique.
Well, one of my daughters gave me a Home Depot gift card for Father's Day. I applied the card towards a new Dremel Stylus tool along with chainsaw sharpening burrs they have. I sharpened a 1/2" blade on the Jet 14" saw and it cut like new.
I will say that I'm concerned about the heat in the rechargable tool while I was working. If you buy the Stylus instead of a tool with a cord do so with the knowledge that I'm not sure it's a good tool. I like the comfort of holding the pistol grip, but I'm concerned about the heat.
Thanks Phil:)
