Has anyone successfully laser engraved any Tervis tumblers? A friend wants a set done and I have no experience with them. According to one site, they are made from polycarbonate. Haven't had any experience with polycarbonate either but I've heard it tends to melt and discolor. Does it have a frosted appearance when engraved like acrylic? Thanks

Not even seen these things over here so I don't know much about them. I've added a link from wiki that gives you more insight. A quick shifty on google images show that most of these are personalised with sublimination marking and nothing with engraving. I suspect you aren't going to get much of a mark without the need for infill because the material would have to be robust enough to take the dropping they are expected to get. Usually any plastic like that isn't great for engraving.

I have engraved poly-carbonate but believe less is more as too much power can give you a distorted image. I never could get a good cut and won't attempt any more.
