Anyone else notice the new smaller diameter dowels being sent for the Dowelmax?
The packages even state "new size".
Haven't measured them but they're definitely a smaller diameter and even rattle around a bit in the drilled holes.
Wondering if I should be using a smaller diameter drill bit.

I get all of my dowels from Lee Valley and the last order I got they were still the same size.
I wouldn't think you would want to use a smaller drill, it would not fit in the bushing like it should and the accuracy could not be as good.

Mine were from Lee Valley also.
You're right about using the smaller drill -would be too loose in the jig bushings.

I wonder what Lee Valley would have to say about it, you could give them a call.

I think it's the manufacturer that's gone and changed the sizes.
See the old vs new labels.

I was just wondering if anyone else had noticed the difference.
I'll check into it a bit further.

The bit that comes with the DowelMax and the Jessem Dowel Jig are both 9.7mm.
