My nephew offered me a maple tree that he was taking down in his yard. I have so much wood that I wasn't sure that I wanted to spend another weekend harvesting another tree. Well, when I stopped by, I saw this:

234843

and then I saw this:

234844

and these:

234845

A few of these were over 4 feet in diameter!! They were too big for my old chainsaw, so I HAD to purchase a new one. I posted questions about a new chainsaw recommendations a few days ago. Well, now I have this:

234846

and I made this.

It is 12" x 8". I finished it while wet, so it has moved/warped some. Inlay in the top with coffee and CA. Finished with AO and buffed.

If anyone wants to trade for some ambrosia, PM me. I have more than I can use.

C and C welcome. Thanks for looking

Now that is quite the haul! Pic 3 with the 5 gallon bucket really shows the size of those logs. you must have used a good portion of that bucket getting everything sealed!

Hey Eric.......man you have been on a roll over the last few days! A lot of turnings and now this wood.........great haul, and btw, what chainsaw did you get? No pics? What's up with that? You know the rules here..........no pics, didn't happen!

I ask because I am about to pull the trigger on a bigger chainsaw myself...........maybe a Husqvarna 576XP with a 28" bar.

WOW! Quite the gloat! Beautiful wood and a very nice hollow form! Not sure about the tiered top but it is different!

I agree with Roger... no pics of your new chainsaw? You'll have to share what you got and how well you like using it.
