I'm refurbing my very old craftsman scroll saw and I have a question for you motor gurus...
The motor is a GE model 5KSA47CI; type KSA 110V 5.4 amp. Not sure if this is original to the saw or not...
As I'm replacing the power cord, I see that this is a brush motor and the white and black from the cord go directly to the brush terminals. My question is can I (should I) ground the motor housing? It wasn't originally of course, given the age of this, just wondering if since I am rewiring anyways, should I? Anything else on the motor I should look after while I'm at it? Brushes look in great shape, and the saw was working fine last time I used it.
