Birch Hollow Form made from a tree that succumbed to the Halloween 2011 storm.Around 8" (20cm) tall. Finished with waterborne lacquer. Experimenting with carving on the rim / neck.

Eric - I like the form, like the carving... only thing that bugs me is the blunt foot. Just me.... but would have preferred a more rounded or tapered foot area. The rainbow of colors is pretty cool!!

I agree, I did not notice until too late that the foot was out of proportion.

Eric,
I can see an entire series from this basic shape. Given the cut away gives the appearance of a collar or neck line, you could make a black and white version with a bow tie. You could create the form of shoulders, waist and hips and make a plunging reveal. Roll the rim down and increase the appearance of a collar. What fun. Good piece!
