My first post….
I have a reclaimed plank of Lebanon Cedar and I’m planning to build a small jewelry box from it.
I have resawed the plank and I’ll use the “fresh” cut sides for the inner side of the box. I will smooth the inner side and I’ll leave it unfinished so the Cedar’s Aroma won’t be blocked.
I want to keep the rough look of the wood “as is” on the outer side of the box. Which finish can be used for the outer side? Shellac / Waterlox / other?

Thanks,
Udi

I'd use shellac.
