Just down here in the basement straightening up. Noticed a cardboard box and grabbed it to throw it out. It was too heavy to be empty.

Dug through it and remembered, that Type 11 #5 rustbomb I got for $5 from the illicit website was part of a lot. Unwrapped more packing newspaper and found an iron from a transitional stamped with a mostly illegible maker's mark (Moulon something? Sadly all I can read is WARRANTED CAST STEEL).

Box still too heavy, unwrapped more, and found a #103 block plane missing the wheel that puts pressure on the iron. Sadly, the entry on supertool.com lists this plane as "Cheesy" and "Junk". It's old enough that the iron is stamped STANLEY RULE AND LEVEL.

Yay for finding tools you didn't know you had.

For the record, the box is now empty.

I have heard of finding tools you knew you had but "lost" but never about buying so many you forgot you bought them :)
