Red Alder Bowl rough turned at Chris Hansen shop in Santa Ynez from some fresh cut logs last Christmas and just recently finish turned. Around 12" (30cm) across, finished with polyurethane. Too big for my light tent had to shoot outdoors on a towel.

From the one photo - sure looks like a really nice bowl! If you have the time... a couple of additional photo views sure would be appreciated.

That soft of wood can't be easy to get that smooth and finished. Goof job of pulling it off and would also like some more pics.

Much better pics, Eric! I wanted to wait to see if you were going to add any before commenting. I think you did well here, and given the softness of the alder, a particularly great result.

Thanks everyone!
Bob / John, the softness of the wood was a challenge, I had to experiment with various tool presentations to find one that cut cleanly. I have one more piece that cracked during drying, I plan to fill the crack with resin and see how it goes. The other piece is even more colorful.
