I have an older craftsman lathe. The one the tail stock rides on the big pipe. I'm told it makes a whining noise. Is use hearing aids which I turn off so I don't hear it. How do i replace the bearing? I took off the step pulley and collar and tapped the shaft but I'm looking for advise before I cause damage. Any tips? Got the bearings off. Any tips on putting new ones on?
