I dropped a really crummy Black and Decker cordless drill (like the $15 on sale kind) into bucket of latex paint once. I rinsed it out and it worked as well as it ever did. It's my 4 year old's drill now although, and I'm not making this up, I caught him sitting on the sofa the day ogling the Festool stuff in woodworking catalog I left on the coffee table.
