Brass - Chrome mounts for holding Acrylic on timber Base ???? Where to buy ???

Hi Guys,

Hope you can help here, I'm trying to find where I can buy these mounts in Brass/Gold or Chrome/Silver, they are actually a Glass Shelf Clamp but I want to use them mounted verticaly on a timer base to hold a laser cut/engraved acrylic piece for trophies. I know I can buy from China but I don't need 1000's, I tried all the Glass Fittings suppliers in Australia but they just aren't interested in selling them to me again unless I buy them by the 1000 and then they want 5 times what I could get them from China. So any ideas???

Thanks Martin,
Had a look through their catalog but couldn't find what I need, so far I've tried more than 10 major players here in Australia and none of them seem to be interested in selling them to me. I contacted one company 3 times over a week with no reply. So, I'm going to look at the Chinese options and order in a bucket load and might end up selling them myself. People here often critisize me for buying so much stuff overseas, but the fact is the Chinese know how to do business, are very accomodating and answer every email they receive and usually within a couple of hours.

In the mean time I'm going to make some for prototypes out of 5/8th dowel so I can at least show some customers a basic sample.

If you have any store display and shelving companies
around there you may check them out. I am lucky to
have one fairly close so I can run to it and see if they have
something that will fit my needs, if not they usually know
where I can find it......That's if it exists! :)


You may want to contact the company in China and see if they have a distributor
in your area that buys those.

I tried both crlaurence.com.au and the shelving shop last week via direct email and through their websites but to date no response. They both have what I want but seems they don't want the business. I've ordered some from a UK supplier to get me out of trouble for now, but it seem rediculous that I can't buy these things from suppliers in my own country. I've also made some from 18mm Oak dowel with M5 grub screws to hold the acrylic, just means I'll have to bore an 18mm hole in my timber base to fix them into. They work great and look OK but I much prefer the Metal Silver/Gold supports for a classier look and ease of fixing.

I'm also in contact now with a manufacturer in China and we're just haggling over Qty & Price, so far they won't move off 1000 min qty but I have managed to get them to agree to 500 Sliver + 500 Gold finish to make up the 1000. Now really just waiting for some samples to arrive.
