help..

How can I remove some glue marks off cherry ply. it was excess squeeze out. I scraped off the best I could with a nice sharp chisel, but marks still are there. Now what??

Try using acetone.

If the glue is pretty fresh, I would try ethanol. Also, if the cherry ply is reasonable quality, then you should be able to sand it with 150 and remove any marks.

Try using a cabinet scraper if all else fails.

Next time, use Waxilit paste from Lee Valley. It's a wax that you put on the glue edges. Squeeze out pops off, and then the wax cleans off with alcohol. You can only get it during the warm months, and a 7oz can lasts for a long time. $16

Also works great on cast iron tops.

scraper should work and a very carefully executed sanding but most ply today is crap so go easy and use a block to keep it flat. For future reference. After I put two pieces together and you have squeeze-out, I keep a small tupperware bowl handy with warm water. I dip a mr clean sponge in it and squeeze out excess and wipe those joints down and get the glue while wet. It's a heck of a lot easier. Rinse glue out of sponge and repeat. When dry I only have a touch of sanding to do and she's ready for finish.
