Thickness plane knife replacement question

I have an old Delta 13" thickness planer that I bought used. ( It's probably 25 years old )I didn't get a users manual with the machine. I just had the knives sharpened and I want to set them back in the machine. How high should I raise the knives above the spindle ?

Kevin, you should be able to get an answer from delta. If not. I always set the back of the bevel with the edge of the cutterhead ( if that makes any sense to you) at that point, the only thing that can be off is your gauge. but you won't have too much of the knive exposed.

Thanks Bob. That's exactly how it was installed by the previous owner. I appreciate the help
