I turned this one today after cutting and sealing more blanks.
I had no plan to turn this specific form, just chucked up a blank, started turning, and this is what I ended up with.
I can't say that I love it, but I do kinda like it. Just wanted to do something a little different from my norm.
It's Mesquite, about 8" x 2" and I gave it 2 coats of AO while on the lathe (I'll probably add another coat or 2).

Kathy, the angled rim is quite different on this one! Nice form, and, as always, very nice mesquite from your seemingly endless source.

Beautiful wood! I think I prefer the smooth curve that I see on the inside of the bowl - opposed to the sharp angle on the outside. As long as you like it... that is all that matters! Glad you got some turning time in!!

Thanks guys!
I know the form's a little different, but I've been feeling the need to experiment a little and I've got plenty of mesquite to experiment with. I've got some really cool wood and want to be sure I like any new (for me) forms before I commit to turning it. Hopefully I'll be posting some really nice stuff soon!

I really like the angles. Not something you usually see in turning but it looks great!
