Smoke and Flame

Today I tried to cut some rubber and wound up with some flame and smoke. The suction and air assist were on.
I have a feeling I need to clean the optics.
Any advice on this for the Trotec would be appreciated.

engraving rubber like for stamp pads or rubber like floor mats/inner tubes ?

Hi Robert,
engraving on rubber,should use big air assist and use wet newspaper on the top will help much,but smell also exist,maybe air filter can work

Cutting rubber is incredibly dirty and sooty and smelly. The wet newspaper trick works to some degree, but watch your blower grille, it just takes a couple of loose newspaper chads to get sucked in to seriously block the airflow. Probably a good idea to completely clean out your machine, according to the manual, after the job.

After one big job cutting gaskets, I decided to decline work involving laser cutting rubber, just too messy.
