I bought a used Helix recently, and the guy threw in a bunch of unused blank materials. Part of those materials included about half a dozen 5x7" plain MDF plaque boards. What can be done with those? :confused:

Thanks

Steve;
They are good for practice but that's about all-poor sales item as they are tough to finish as any cut edges absorb paint

Perfect - if there's one thing I need, it's practice! Thanks George.

You can also use them to make jigs as you'll find, jigs come in handy!

you can also put a few coats of gesso on them and then spray them with rattle can.
Then laser through the top coat of paint for an etched look.

Good idea, Martin!

Interesting idea! Is just regular ol' Krylon OK?

Yep.. I got the idea here. There was a discussion about scratchboard
and so I tried it. You can use various programs or plug-ins that give
an etched, crosshatched or woodcut look to help it along. Haven't
really found the market for it, but Neil Pabia likes it.. he took some
samples to tick off his artist neighbor who does these by hand.
heh heh heh ...

now that would have been cool..

have you tried it yet? MDF isn't usually something you'd make a finished piece
out of, but always seem to have on hand. Almost like getting free product
