I had to adjust the speed on my router today and realized I had probably never mentioned my thread-cleaning trick.

When I purchased my router lift several years ago, I discovered that the threads like to hold just enough sawdust to make adjusting the height a pain.

So I took a pipe cleaner and wrapped it (loosely) in a sort of figure eight around the threads, and part of the lift. Now when I adjust the lift up/down, the pipe cleaner cleans the sawdust off the threads.

That's pretty clever Phil! I am getting ready to build Norm's Deluxe router table and put a lift in it. I'll try to remember this ingenious idea!

Very cool idea! One I think you should send off to the magazines...
