I finally got a chance to really use my 5/8 inch thompson 10V BG that I picked up from the man himself at the new hampshire woodturning symposium a couple of weeks ago. man I gotta say that thing can really hog out material with a quickness, yet can have real finesse. I am truly surprised how long that holds that edge.

I put a Jatoba(Brazilian Cherry) handle on it just like my 3/8 Sorby BG.

Chris, mine is affectionately named "the hog!" Really comes in handy for rough work, and several creekers use them as a go to gouge.

What size is the BG? I see he has 5/8" and 3/4" gouges plus the signature tools but not sure what size the BG is. I love the DT tools I have plus he is a great guy.

Like John my 5/8" is my hog. It is a sweet tool that will remove a lot of wood fast.
