I really enjoy reading the hand saw etchings. Some of them are very creative.
Here are a few I've done lately.
C.E. Jennings #212
Northern King. This is from one of those big 1 man crosscuts.

Find a Bishop saw, the one with a "Flying Greyhound" on it. I happen to have a P80 version at the house right now....

On the "I will saw," is that a bird on his head or a tiny dragon?

Looks to me like a tiny dragon and it's a her.

I was trying to make it out to be Mercury, so I assumed it was a male figure. That's certainly an interesting sawplate. Kind of reminds me of Game of Thrones.

I believe the last etch is of the "muse" of the 1933 Chicago World's Fair - she is either "Progress", Ceres (from the Chicago Board of Trade Building), or Chicago herself - can't find an explanation of the symbolism. See the World's Fair Posters by Glen Sheffer and George Petty (Google Image search or whatever you prefer). The latter poster shows the winged critter is an eagle, which may coincide with 1933 being the year the NRA was started (no, not THAT NRA - the National Recovery Act). So potentially we have progress being raised up by the NRA or something. Sorry, DaVinci code moment - back to the cool tools

An interesting collection.

One thing they all seem to have in common is a tooth line getting close to the etch.

Looks like they were valued enough by the previous owners to sharpen rather than replace.

sorry, forgot to add that in the Chicago World's Fair Poster by Petty, the woman's tiara says "I Will". Maybe the saw is a commemorative, if that was a Fair slogan. enough, later

In the middle of the front of her shirt it says: I Will.
