Showing my ignorance here....... anyway.....
I have some highly figured cherry veneer panels (plywood substrate) that I want to edge band with cocobolo - not the best choice of wood as far as gluing properties are concerned.
To add a little mechanical strength, I was considering cherry "bow tie things" as a sort of fastener. I can figure out how to cut the receiving part of the joint, but how to you cut the bow tie's themselves in a safe (and accurate)manner. And what are the things called?
Also open to alternative suggestions as to how I might strengthen the bond between the ply and the cocobolo. Thanks...... Dave.
