I need a chuck w/ 33 taper to fit the #2 MT tailstock shaft on my lathe.
I have one on my DP, but swapping out is a time waster (in my mind).
Anyone have a suggestion as to where is the best seller of a Jacobs with a 33 taper? Link?
I have the arbor with the #2 MT. Just need a chuck.

I hope I'm reading this right Bill, but I picked mine up from CSUSA. Big Box places have them too.

I had the m33 chuck on my cheapo delta drill press seize up so I ordered this one on Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Drill-Chuck-Jacobs-Taper-Mount/dp/B0007PZF3U/ref=pd_cp_hi_1
I was very impressed with how much more heavy duty it is than the original and how smoothly it operates.

Check McMaster Carr. I picked up one for a keyless chuck and the price was OK. They ship fast also.

Curt (and others) I also bought this chuck from Amazon.com and I am so VERY pleased with it's heft, quality, and price. I have put it on the Craftsman drill press (new) I have and left the original in the box, unused. This is truly a very nice chuck with no run out (if properly seated.....remember no oil, no dirt or any foreign matter on the shaft). I was a drill press operator at Boeing Airplane Company in Seattle, WA for a number of years and the chuck is all important, along with good spindle and bearings, for alignment and precision drilling.

Several of our club members have bought these and been happy with them:

I have seen them for as little as $8.
I bought a keyless chuck from woodcraft years ago (originally for my DP) and just recently got an arbor for it and now use it on the lathe.

Well, I'm impressed. Got the chuch that Curt and Vernon suggested today. Very well made, and a value to boot.
$22.00 bucks delivered. Key was included.
Thanks guys.
