I recently entered 3 pieces, a hollow form and 2 winged bowls, in an artist exhibition. Out of about 700 entries, 355 were juried in. Surprise to me, all three of my pieces made it in. I was even more surprised when I learned I had won 3 different awards. One was the Ron den Broeder Memorial award, awarded by my local wood turning club. The second was the Vandenburg Jewelers Award for best 3-d art. And the third was the Varineau Family Award. I am very grateful to the people that gave me those awards. Also VERY surprised.
