You may recall my posts detailing the struggling school woodshop program where I volunteer. Several Creekers have graciously donated tools and materials that have enabled us to take this program to higher levels. Tonite was community open house and I thought you might enjoy seeing some of the finished projects that you helped foster! Thanks again, everyone! PS Sorry for the poor picture quality.

We just started messing around with the lathe but the ol' Rockwell is not cooperating. The bearings are shot and the speed control won't stay locked. We were donated a Jet mini lathe so I hope to get some chisels and equipment donated to do some small bowls and pen turnings.

Biff-
Good job! I imagine this has been a very rewarding experience for you and the kids in the program. You're certainly doing something right.......their work looks great! Pass a 'bravo' to them from a fellow ww'er!!

That is very cool Biff - bravo! I was probably one of the last classes to go through woodshop in my school, and I don't think I made anything like that! You deserve a lot of credit for the effort and dedication you've put into this, I hope the students and parents appreciate it.

Thanks guys! I should have mentioned that a couple of these projects were made by my daughter, so I am a little biased!:) These works are from kids aged about 13-17. The student that made the ukelele is now making an electric ukelele and it is amazing. He has got incredible talent and I'm kind of jealous! The students do appreciate the help, in fact they gave me a card yesterday that they all wrote thanks/comments in and I will treasure that card forever.

I always love to see stuff like this. Thanks for passing this on to the next generation.
