3 x 9 Walnut w/ Wavy Plywood Lid

That would be fantastic even without the wavy plywood. The wavy plywood takes it up a notch and adds to your reputation of "how the heck did he do that!"

Great combo, John! I really like the knob, too - neat style and it really ties together the elements. The change in curvature of the plywood (or appearance of such) is interesting.

I appreciate all the comments. I have other ideas for this design element, but you'll have to be patient as it's a slow process.

You have to be very careful with steam so as to not effect the original lamination of the plywood.

Overall, the concept is really cool John. In this case, I'm distracted by the wavy plywood on a really nice chunk of walnut. The matching knob is a nice touch!

At first glance, I liked the lid but wasn't sure if I cared for it with the grain of the walnut. After looking at it multiple times during the day I am at a loss to suggest anything better. The knob design and color does a good job of tying everything together.
