Tgif. This Is A Madrone Burl That I Started To Do About 2 Years Ago. I Had A Blow Out On The Side. Got Mad Put It Under The Workbench And Forgot It Until I Was Cleaning On Wed. Nite. My 10 Yr Old Son Was Turnig Pens Out Of Yew, When I Found It. I Decided To See If I Could Save This Piece. I Had To Cut The Hgt Down To Get Rid Of The Blow Out. It Had Some Cracks So I Ca. It With Black Walnut To Give It A Contrast. I Think I May Have Saved It???. Thanks For Looking. Steve

A great save! I like using the walnut as contrast in the cracks.

Great looking bowl-- different also. Could also give you a knuckle trimming if not careful! Good job saving! :)

Having it under your bench gave you time to creatively change the design in your mind. Not a save, just a design development.
Anyway, it will look good on the shelf.

What does that mean? (By the way, the bowl looks great!)

I USED CA GLUE IN THE CRACK, THEN PUT IN BLACK WALNUTS DUST. THEN CA GLUE OVER THAT TO FILL IN THE CRACKS.
