I noticed Festool has a wire brush that can be used with the hand-held elec. planer. Is this an option that is only available to that particular brand, or are there other planers that allow this.?? Thanks Rob

do you have a link for a festal air brush for the planer? I can't find any reference to such an insert. I see they sell a hand held device that is a dedicated wire brush texture machine, but not in North America.

That Festool dedicated wire brush machine that is not available in North America (http://www.festool.com/EN/Products/Pages/Product-Detail.aspx?pid=570775&name=RUSTOFIX-RAS-180-03-E-HR) is similar to a machine from Metabo that is available in the US -- http://www.amazon.com/Metabo-SE12-115-Amp-Burnishing-Machine/dp/B0019I9224

Of course, the Festool version is designed with built-in dust collection which looks excellent, while the Metabo appears to have no dust collection - figures. There is an USA company that makes similar system that attaches to a power drill.... can't recall their name....
