Does anyone know where I can find a short length of 3/4" garden hose (6' or so)? I know I can buy a 50' hose, chop it up, and install barbed fittings + hose clamps. However, I'd prefer a well made solution that won't leak & one where I won't scrape my fingers on the hose clamp all the time. I need 3/4" for feeding a pressure washer through a 3/4" hose reel.

5/8" is commonly available around here as remnants but they are usually 10-15' long. I doubt you are going to starve your pressure washer with a short lenth of 1/8" smaller hose. The flow rate of most normal sized pressure washers is way under what a 5/8" hose at standard water pressures is going to be.

Aren't they normally female connectors on each end?

The ones I've seen are 3/8", not 3/4" (we're talking about the inner hose diameter, not the fittings).

You're probably right but I've got 3/4" everywhere else and it's worth a few bucks to calm my anal retentive nature :-).

Anyway, I can get the raw hose (I'm willing to shorten one of my 150' hoses) and I can get some hose barbs from various sources. If I can get a custom-crimped solution then that would be even better. Something like this (http://www.hummert.com/ProductDetail.aspx?Page=ProductList.aspx&ID=2762&C=19) is what I'm talking about. I'm hoping that someone has done this before and has a company to recommend.

Greg,

You might try Fluid Connector Products in Portland http://www.fcpi.com/ContactUs.html. They may have hose as well as clamp-less hose ends so there won't be hose clamps to get caught on.

I didn't read all the other posts so you may already have an answer, but most camping stores carry a Flexible hose protector with a spring around the hose so you can hook a water filter to your camper water supply hose.231210 Here's a link Flexible hose protector (http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/flexible-water-hose-protector/8666) Ours is either 5/8 or 3/4"

Bite the bullet and cut a hose you have.
Put a quality end on it, and be done with the mess.
No need to make it difficult.
