A golfing buddy told me he had some cherry and walnut he had cleared out on his farm and thought I might want some. They were cut in late winter. I got a few pieces and made this for him. He says he has been thinking about getting a lathe for some time, and now after getting this bowl, even more so. Hopefully someday soon we will have another swirling in the vortex. The bowl ended up 9" x 6", finished in home brew oil, buffed and then ren wax.

Steve, a bowl of difficult proportions for gouge access, but you pulled it off with honors! Nice work, and a good way to help pull your friend into the abyss.;)

Great job on a tough form Steve! The wood helped a little bit.

Good looking bowl Steve! With your friend staring at an example of turning like this - it won't be long before he jumps in! Nice work!

Steve,
A very nice NE bowl with sides that are not always easy to do. What a nice gift to give him. Your finish looks very nice as well.

You may come to regret this if he has no money left over to play golf with you.;) Nice bowl!
