View Full Version : How to fit narrow blades in a Stanley #50?

The Stanley #50 holds blades by pinching them from the sides. Mine will only clamp blades down to 1/4" before the mechanism bottoms out, but it came with 3/16" and 1/8" blades. Does anyone know how to mount these narrow blades? I've stared at it for a while and can't figure it out.

Thanks,

Jared

Hi Jared.
I had the same problem. I got mine from St James Tool Bay. I got it from on ebay from him.
It just works fine. His name on ebay is st.jamesbaytoolco .

I hope this helps.

From looking at mine, it looks like a regular 1/4" bolt and a wing nut to match could do the job.
