Hey All,
I thought I would show a start to finish tutorial of a blank I just got from eBay yesterday. It is a Sugar Maple Burl Cap that is 11" x 4'. I decided to curl over the sides and maybe add a short pedestal later, but that may change after I finish turn it. It was sealed green so I rough turned it to approx. 1" thick and it is now in the DNA until Tuesday, when I will wrap it in brown paper, weigh it and finish turn it when it stops losing weight. If only it was that easy for me to lose weight, I'd be in the DNA now. LOL

That is going to be beautiful when finished! I think I would get quite excited if I saw something like that appear on my lathe!

Ken, that is going to come alive when it is finished!! Very nice chunk of burl, and I think a short pedestal would work on this one.
