Mahogany hollow form turned using the lost wood process. Carved and hammered textured with a satin acrylic finish. All comments and critiques are welcomed and appreciated.

Different! Looks like the halves are hollowed separately and put back together.............skilled work at any rate.

Joe, You make the most creative pieces, and the work is always first rate! Nice job.

Roger, I recall Joe posting about his lost wood process in the past and I believe he creates a hollow form and then cuts a section out of the middle and glues the 2 outside pieces back together. He obviously did a lot of carving afterward on this one.

Very different! Almost a seashell effect! How big is the piece?

This is the center 1/3 of the original hollow form that was "lost."

That's what I was wanting to see Joe! You should explain to folks a little about the "lost wood" process...it's kinda cool from what I've been able to see.
Your "club" came out well...though I can't figure out meaning of club. Seems more like a "pod"...but it's your piece and you made something pretty cool using this process!
