I know if doesn't count if you don't have pictures, but I am still going to gloat. Ordered mine Thursday, arrived today at 1:30 and got a couple of neighbors to help assemble. Just hooked up the cord after dinner, plugged her in, and voila. Put a 2x2 about 12 inches long on it and turned it up to over 2K RPM. Quiet as a church mouse.

LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Steve, I was spending all the time I could on the old 1236, but you are correct, the time I will spend will be much more enjoyable.

Congratulations Tom! We took almost the same route, I started with a 1236 and then the 1624, except I have the 1.5 hp. I have enjoyed mine for several years now, and I am sure you will come to appreciate yours more and more as you use it. I hope you use it in good health for years to come!

Congratulations Tom, I've been using a 1442 for years and it'll take a real beating. I'm sure the 1642 is even better. Now it's time for you to go big.

Tom, you will LOVE that lathe. The sanding in reverse is so much nicer. It has a lot more power as well. Be safe and have fun.

Now it's time for you to go big.

Bill, how do you think a 15 7/8" segmented potpourri bowl would look? About the only segmented think I know how to make at the moment.
