How do I go about removing this black 4" adapter from the large plate it is attached to:confused: I'm asking this now before I go about beating upon it:eek: I'm going to adapt it to 6"? but as the hose that attaches the blower to the filter is 5" maybe I'm limited to 5"?

Jim, I have the same D/C. That black piece will come off. It is a good snug fit so You will have to play with to get it loose. Try spraying a little lubricant between the two and let it sit for a bit. Hope this will help.

Jim -

I have the regular 1100. You should be able to pry it off. It's very tight. You can run 6" from the DC to the main line which should probably be smaller. I use a 6" trunk line down to a 5" main line and then either 5" or 4" to machines. That was recommended by Oneida-Air when I bought their duct work.

I can echo Chris. It does come off, but it is some kinda tight from the factory. I used a long 3/8 drive extension to gently pry/ rock it off

if you think it's hard to get off, try getting it back on. DAMHIKT
