used table saw

hi all , in my never ending search for a table saw. i found a 15 year old brigewood cabinet 3hp 1 ph 52 inch beismeyer fence for around 800$. any comments about this saw from that era? were they about the same quality as todays saws? price seems ok to me and even better my wife say ok as long as it all checks out.

If it is in nice shape I think you found a winner. Have you seen the saw? For $800 bucks i would expect it to be very clean and in 100% working order. i would not expect a beat up fence or any rust. Was it a home shop or a production shop it was in?

As Tim said, I would expect a top notch saw for that price, not all beat up. I would also ask the history of the saw. If it has been used every day, all day for 15 years, it has led a hard life. It has been used in a hobby shop, it is probably ready to go another 15-30 years.
