JohnJohn,

My favorite is the No. 8! With the Primus and the LN 4 1/2 coming in a close second.

Thanks all!

Very nice! Do you use the router plane often?

Very nice! Do you use the router plane often?I just got it about a month ago and have not had the opportunity to use it on a project yet. And I don't see that I will use it all that much. However, I have played around with it and practiced a couple of different tasks with it. If I ever need to make a small dado deeper, and the shoulder plane won't fit in the dado, this would clean out the dado nicely.

So, John, what is that Goliath looking thing with the ruler on it that you're using as a backdrop for the family.

Ah, yes, I recall seeing stuff like that. Guess you finally found a good use for one.:)

Great family you got there.

John...Nice collection... In the notes you mentioned that that you don't know the name of the wood scrub plane. I have one that is very similar. It's an ECE that I got at Lee Valley. Might this be it?

John's non-neander friends might call the men in white if they get a picture of that "family" around the tree wearing little Santa caps next Christmas (or have they gotten that already???)

That's a beautiful family John. And they do all look alike - except that one with the long ears:D

John,

That sure is a nice looking family you have there, Pastor (not that that's not what I would expect) ;) .

I may not be reading correctly, but did you miss the LV LA Jack on the back row, 8th from left (at least I think that's what it is)?

Thanks for sharing the family portrait,
Mike

John,

I think the reason I really noticed was because I'm battling coveting right about now. ;) I have yet to buy a new bench plane (they've all been fix'r-up'rs), but I think the LV LA Jack might be the first. Good choice in your opinion as an owner of such?

Thanks,
Mike

I only recently got my first newborn plane, the Veritas large Shoulder Plane. Worked well right out of the box and even better once the iron was honed.:D
