I've seen homemade jigs like this. Has anyone here used this, or used a homemade jig? How well do they work? How many sharpenings have you given your knives?

Saw them today via email. Look good but WAY too expensive. You can make one from scrap and using your TS.
I use my Makita to sharpen 'em.

I have a home made one out of a block of maple butcher block. Grooves cut at the appropriate angle using my TS. Had to turn the block on it's side and run it against the fence to get the correct angle. Anyway, I have sharpened my Dewalt planer blades one time and it did a fantastic job. Used the scary sharp method moving the block/blades along the long axis. Had to glue two pieces of sandpaper side by side to get enough length. Fortunately, my saw blade cut the exact width my planer blades required.
