Just finished turning a spindle on the lathe. When I went to remount another one, tailstock hand wheel is frozen! Not sure what I did wrong. Used some WD 40, will not budge at all, even with some persuasion with a wooden mallet. Any help, ideas much appreciated.

Kieran, maybe the set screw on the back side somehow` got tightened onto the quill. it is the one that goes in the groove loosely to keep the quill from turning. Just a thought. Max in Ft. Worth Tx.

Thanks Max. Checked all that. I just ordered a new quill and interior screw device. Unfortunately need to get it overnighted. Have orders pending! I think I probably cranked down on the handle too much. STUPID mistake.

Try a lever----I would guess you only need to move it a bit.
