Gap between rails on Jet 1642?

Does anyone know off hand the distance between the bed rails of a 1642?

I am doing a metal spinning demo tomorrow and it will be on a 1642. I am thinking it might be a good idea to make a temporary auxiliary clamp to help keep the banjo from moving when spinning.

Mine measures 1.75"

Thanks. Someone else thought it was 1.25" and I was thinking that was too narrow.
