I am headed to the eastern Nebraska and western Iowa next week and wondering if there are any sawmills I should stop at? Osage Orange, black walnut, sycamore, figured maple, etc are all on my shopping list.

No wood in that area. Nuthin' but corn stalks & cow pies. :D

But seriously, If you can venture to St. Joseph, MO. there are two sawmills there. One specializes in Walnut, and the other in all local hardwoods. All wood will be rough, or skip planed. Both are very nice people & will cater to the little guy. You might find some Osage at Hardwood Heaven in Lincoln, but expect to pay full retail.
