I got this figured maple from a friend of mine who is also a turner. It has some ambrosia, spalting, and even burl. Now to get it cut up and sealed. Since I can't share any of the wood I thought I could at least post a pic.

Jason, there is going to be some drop dead gorgeous wood in those logs!!!! You have a generous friend - treat him well. I would be tempted to save some of those burls for smaller hollow forms.

Yeah, we have a pretty good arrangement. If I come into some nice wood I share with him and he does the same for me. Currently there is a huge Ash tree that we discovered on his uncle's property that may have some spalting. We are planning to get it soon so more pics to follow. I have never turned any Ash so it will be interesting to see how well it turns.
