Well, another weekend has come and gone and all it did here was storm and rain.

Spent some time in the shop working on the hutch conversion over to an entertainment center for a buddy at work. Interior cabinet is built, glued up, sanded and stained. The two bottom drawer boxes are now cut, dovetailed and glued together. Spent some time with Mark Cothren in the shop on Saturday and had a good time. I sure do like making things on the spinny thing and flat work is becoming something that I do for a change of pace or a way to make a little extra money now and then.

Well, it's off to jury duty this morning and is why I'm posting early as I have to leave shortly in order to make my way to Little Rock and find the federal court building. I had planned on taking today and tomorrow off from work as it is the LOML's birthday tomorrow and I wanted to do some things around the house that she wants done for her birthday. But, now...I guess we'll see how things shake out on jury duty. ;)

So what did YOU do this weekend?

Best of weeks to you all......

Great weekend.

I was lucky enough to have a 5-day weekend. We had both Friday and today off plus I used a vacation day for Thursday. Spent a lot of time wrestling with installing a roller table on my saw http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showpost.php?p=161357&postcount=8 and also managed to get some plane pics taken http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?t=18473

Now that the snow is almost all gone from the yard I went on pooper scooper patrol yesterday. It's amazing how much that snow can hide. Went to some relatives for Easter dinner in the afternoon yesterday and got so stuffed, the rest of the day was a washout. Just couldn't move myself out of the LazyBoy. I'm off this morning to Lowe's to grab a pair of those mini-clamps while they still have the rebate for the 1-yr FWW subscription extension, then heading to a countershop to try and order some Corian joint compound to match some yellow corian I have.

I got my Mission headboard finished up except for the varnish, installed two Microjig pop-in splitters, played a little with the new band saw, and started milling wood for the Mission dressers.

I'll post the headboard when I get the varnish on. Believe it or not, it was colder than I like for applying varnish yesterday. There was snow just west of here yesterday. In late March! In the DFW area! Go figure.

Speaking of snow....the DFW area saw an Easter snow for the first time in recorded history yesterday. We didn't get any in Dallas, but Tarrant and Johnson counties did. Weird...snow and Bluebonnets in the same picture!!

I took Friday off and spent the day in the shop building jigs and other accessories I've been meaning to get to. First on the list was finishing a set of walnut/maple sanding blocks from Wood magazine. I had started them about 18 months ago. The day after I started them, we got an offer on our house and I had to start packing immediately. Hadn't touched them since. I also built some push sticks, a circle sanding jig for my disc sander, a thin-strip jig for the table saw and a coping jig for the router table. Used my new favorite shop finish--1/3 BLO, 1/3 mineral spirits, 1/3 poly--on everything.

Saturday, I spent the day with family including a brother and his wife visiting from Columbus. We did go to Harbor Freight as he, my dad, and I all wanted to go. Picked up some shop supplies and an extension cord.

Sunday we looked for eggs left by the Easter Bunny and had breakfast with the family, then most of them headed down to Columbus. After that I spent a couple hours in the shop doing some cleaning, building another blast gate, and adding a drop to my dust collection for my drum sander.

Saturday was spent driving to and from Oklahoma for a wedding...OUTDOORS!! Man was it cold, but luckily no rain during the afternoon. Got home late, went to bed. Woke up Sunday to that snow Kelly talked about, then turned to rain, so no shop work on the outside walls for me this weekend. And it's supposed to be in the 70's today...go figure. I did take the coomputer down and completely wipe the drives clean and started over. Now where are those ethernet card drivers hiding at???? Jim.

3 day weekend, I cleaned up some mess and started on the taxes.

A little antiquing over Saturday as we did a road trip along the mighty Mississippi! Found a nice Bailey #8 just calling my name. Couldn't quite hear it at that price but we'll see if they take my offer. Spent time with the family for a nice Easter meal and a little shop time.

Packing, Packing and more packing.

Rented a storage facility, so moving, moving and more moving.

The whole ice berg thing came up, I had some lap siding that was buckling. I ripped it off to replace and yes, the sheating underneath was total rotted. So I ripped back until I got to solid sheeting. Replaced it and then the siding. This was done in three spots. Then to real culprit. I had two window seals rot and let water in, so off with that and some brick molding on two windows (I hate storms, they hold in too much moisture. Pretty much shot most of Saturday..... Sunday, and whole bunch of other stuff, man are my back and hands totally sore today. Good news, I got to use a hammer, chisel, saws, caulking gun, level so technically I guess I can say I got into the shop. :p

Only two more weeks of this stuff and then the house can be put on the market. My poor son, almost forgot who I was.
