Hello All,

I bought a new jointer last week, a Delta 6-inch, model 37-190. My sense of this tool is that it's Lowe's / Home Depot-grade and sold for about $500 ten years ago (?). For instance, it's made in China, which kind of surprised/dissapointed me. Anyway, I got it for $300, and it was brand new in the box (hadn't ever been assembled), so I feel like I got a good deal. I've assembled it and used it and it cuts real nice.

My first question is a general one: Does anybody have this tool and is there anything I should look out for?

My second question is more specific: The fence seems a bit "slippery" and I'm having a hard time squaring it to both the infeed and outfeed table simultaneously; if I square it to the infeed, it's a little off at the out and vice-versa. Is this common with cheaper, lighter duty jointers? Is it even a real problem?

I'm a bit inexperienced with a jointer, so I thought I'd try and get some input.

Thanks.
