I tried to recover this cherry tree highlighting the flaws of a "bad" aging ... I plugged in the cracks bigger ebony, in the remaining I "satisfied" with black epoxy ... I exaggerated the excavation to highlight the design also createdwithin the piece .. hence the name "double face" .. .. The cherry was slightlymore floral and this enhances the chromaticity of the piece, the finish istransparent acrylic spray ... As the advertising says the coffee .. "I like me" .. :D ..and in all honesty, regardless of taste, I consider it a good exercise cmq of "experimentation" ... the mouth of the jar has come so, because where it wasrotten .. it was rotten :D to you the verdict ..:) sorry for my bad english :(

Francesco, I assume you filled the cracks prior to hollowing! If not, you are a lucky fellow to get that one done in one piece!! Interesting, to say the least!

I actually first given the external form, I filled the cracks and then I dug ... after excavation I filled all the cracks with resin thickened inside and I finished the whole ... was a long job but I'm happy because it came as a thought ... thanks :)
P. S. : The resin was applied in three coats to fill fine cracks

sorry for my bad english :(

Great job on hollowing! You sure got this piece thin! Nice work on all the cracks! Adds character and keeps the piece from falling apart!!

Wow I don't think I have ever seen a piece with that many cracks completed! Great job and I do like it a lot!

I like it as well. Very unique look with the cracks how they wrap around the body. Good job.
