That's humbling. What a woman. She has overcome a lot of obstacles that probably would have stopped most men. I love how she uses the tractor and engine hoist to move big blanks. And talk about a coring rig...Thanks for the link. Jack.

Beautiful bowls. I love her coring system - her chain saw.

Great lady! She had no problem figuring out how to handle those big blanks. We should take a lesson. Thanks for sharing Jack.

Lissi was quite a character, and her husband Knud was my first turning teacher at the Campbell Folk School in 1986. She was not yet turning then, but was the drill sergeant teaching sanding, and I did learn to sand! She nearly beat herself to death turning those big pieces with Knud's scrapers, and went back home to Norway several years ago.

I took a week class at John C.Campbell and we went out to her house and studio. She just happened to be turning a large Walnut bowl. She is a very super nice lady and really informative to talk with. She has made a living for herself and her daughter from carrying on her husband work. She also sells the Oland tool in sizes for us regular guys.We were supose to be there for an hour and endded up there for 3 1/2 hours.

The video was impressive but I saw some fingers on the wrong side of the tool rest.
